Here, I, Martín Prechtel, have for you two of my Audial Lectures: one from Season I and one from Season II of Please, Come Sit by My Fire, free for anyone to listen to and share out in the world, to get an idea of what they are like. Please feel free to pass these along to anyone and everyone you think might be interested.

By nature, you and I are creatures who need to echo; creatures who need to listen for the sounds made by others and everything in the Universe; creatures who keep the world alive by the echoing of their human language, creatures who are given life and spirit nutrition by the rich meanings on the echoing that the myriad of the world’s things make. We at heart are creatures who both create and crave the deliciousness of the tone’s spoken language these meanings choose to ride into our hearts.

Each of us becomes chronically sad, when the sounds and meanings we receive and send out are not the echoing shape of the real world or not those of our own soul, but the predigested psuedo-language of an imposter’s digitalized wasteland, a lazy soul-eating empty bubble. No true world or person is fed by this. Our real sounds do, real meanings feed real ears.

The best revolution for us is the simplest: to struggle to develop the natural-born courtesy to try to hear real human speech saying real people things that sing the world alive echoing from real throats with notes of unenslaved music.
